Surf - "Baptism of fire" in Hawaii

Anglet, Pays basque (24/03/11) -  Les juniors du team Volcom Europe sont partis en février pour leur première mission sur les "Proving Grounds" du North shore. Marcelino Botin, Andy Criere, Angelo Bonomelli, PC Distinguin et William Aliotti ont eu le privilège de rester dans la célèbre Volcom House, juste en face de "Pipeline". Arrivés tard dans la saison, les boys ont trouvé des lits vacants dans le "Donjon", et pu profiter des pics du North Shore, moins peuplés qu'en pleine saison. Pour autant, il n'y a pas eu de traitement de faveur. Chacun a du apprendre le sens de "pay your dues" (passe à la caisse), une phrase fréquemment utilisée sur le North Shore. Avec l'intensité du spot, des surfeurs et le degré d'engagement à Hawaii, cette expérience à la Volcom House s'est avérée intense mais encourageante pour le futur. Au final, chacun a pris sa leçon d'humilité, mais saisit chaque instant. De quoi rentrer à la maison remonté et plein de confiance. Marcelino Botin, Andy Criere, Angelo Bonomelli, PC Distinguin and William Aliotti had the privilege to stay at the Volcom House, right in front of the infamous "Pipeline". Arriving late in the season, the boys found empty beds in the "Dungeon", and less crowded North Shore line-ups. Still, there was no special treatment. Each of the boys experienced the meaning of "pay your dues", a commonly used phrase on the North Shore. With the intensity of the spot and people, and the degree of surfing commitment, the Volcom House experience ended up being both challenging and rewarding. In the end, the boys all got into humbling situations but they all seized the moment, and got a great confidence boost to bring back home. Check out the photos below for more North shore action!
